Stone chip repair

Small chips, big difference.

Stone chips are part of driving on Finnish roads: winter grit and stones thrown up by the car in front leave small craters in the bonnet, front bumper and mirrors. A single chip looks harmless, but once the paint has chipped down to bare metal, moisture and road salt get to work.

In a stone chip repair I clean the damaged spots and fill them with paint matched to your car’s colour. That seals the chips and makes them much less noticeable. It is a far lighter job than repainting the whole panel.

The price depends on how many chips there are and where they are. Send a photo of the damage and I’ll tell you upfront what the repair costs and what kind of result is realistic.

The process

How it works

  1. Photo of the damage

Send a photo of the chips with the make and model of your car. I’ll assess the repair and give you a price.

  2. Clean

The chips and the paint around them are cleaned carefully so the touch-up paint bonds properly.

  3. Repair

I fill the chips with paint matched to your car’s colour, one chip at a time.

  4. Finish

The repaired spots are checked under light before hand-over, and I’ll tell you how to look after them.

Who it’s for

When should you repair stone chips?

The sooner a chip is repaired, the smaller the damage stays.

  • There are small spots on the bonnet or front end where the paint has chipped off.
  • You bought a used car and want the chips fixed before they start to rust.
  • You are getting the car ready for sale or for the end of a lease.
  • You are about to have the car coated and want the chips repaired first.

Frequently asked

If you have more questions, contact me through WhatsApp or email.

Will the repaired chip be visible?

The repair makes a chip much less noticeable and seals it against moisture, but up close you can usually still spot it. A completely invisible result would mean repainting the panel. I’ll tell you upfront what to expect.

Why repair chips soon?

Once the paint is chipped down to the metal, moisture and road salt reach the surface and rust can start creeping under the paint. A chip repaired in time stays small.

How much does it cost?

Stone chip repair starts from 100€. The final price depends on how many chips there are and where. Send a photo and you’ll get an exact price.

Can I combine it with other work?

Yes. You can book a stone chip repair on its own or together with, say, a polish or a ceramic coating. List everything you’d like in the quote request and I’ll put it into one quote.
