Paint correction

Bring the gloss back to your paint.

Brush car washes, poor hand washing and everyday use leave fine scratches in the paint that show up as a spider web in sunlight and under street lights. In paint correction I machine-polish away a very thin layer of the clear coat, so the swirls and haze disappear and the depth and gloss of the paint come back.

A 1-stage polish removes fine scratches and swirl marks and suits paint that is in fairly good shape. Multi-stage correction is for deeper scratches and paint defects: it is done in several compounding and polishing stages and finishes with mirror-like reflections.

I measure the paint depth before I start, so I know how much paint there is to work with. We go through upfront which scratches will come out completely and which are too deep to remove.

The process

How it works

  1. Photos and assessment

Send photos of the paint, ideally in sunlight or bright light. I’ll tell you whether a 1-stage polish is enough or the car needs multi-stage correction.

  2. Wash and decontamination

The car is washed and the paint decontaminated, so polishing never grinds dirt into the surface.

  3. Measure and polish

I measure the paint depth and polish panel by panel, with as many compounding and polishing stages as the paint needs.

  4. Inspection under light

The whole car is checked under an inspection light and finished where needed. Paint correction usually takes 1–2 days.

Who it’s for

When should you polish your car?

Paint correction is worth it once a wash no longer makes the paint look good.

  • You can see swirl marks or holograms in sunlight and under street lights.
  • A dark car looks dull and hazy even straight after a wash.
  • You are selling the car and want it to look its best in the listing photos and in person.
  • You plan a ceramic coating: polishing first makes sure no scratches get locked under the coating.

Frequently asked

If you have more questions, contact me through WhatsApp or email.

Will every scratch come out?

Swirl marks and fine scratches usually come out completely. Deep scratches you can feel with a fingernail can often only be reduced, because removing them fully would take too much paint. I’ll give you an honest assessment from your photos before anything is booked.

Which polish does my car need?

If the paint is in fairly good shape and the defects are mostly swirls, a 1-stage polish (from 300€) is enough. For deeper scratches and paint that has been neglected for a while, I recommend multi-stage correction (from 450€).

How do I keep polished paint looking good?

Wash the car by hand and avoid brush car washes, which put new swirl marks in the paint. The gloss lasts best when the polish is followed by a ceramic coating.
